Priorities and funded actions: Objectives EIT RawMaterials brings together more than 120 core and associated partners and over 180 project partners from leading companies, universities and research institutions from more than 20 EU countries. The partners of EIT RawMaterials are active in the entire raw materials value chain; from exploration, mining and mineral processing to Yesterday (9 December), the EIT announced the winners of the new call for EIT Health and EIT Raw Materials. EIT RawMaterials has the ambitious vision to develop raw materials into a major strength for Europe and the mission to enable sustainable competitiveness of the European minerals, metals and materials sector along the value chain by driving innovation, education and entrepreneurship.

The outdated make-take-use-dispose model is no longer valid in a world of finite resources. As foreseen in the European Institute of Innovation and Technology’s 2014 Call for KIC proposals, the submission and evaluation of the proposals was concluded and two new KICs were designated in December 2014: EIT Raw Materials - addressing the theme of raw materials - sustainable exploration, extraction, processing, recycling and substitution. Connecting local raw materials communities with their international EIT RawMaterials counterparts. EIT RawMaterials Hub Regional Center Adria (RC Adria) was founded and started its work in spring 2018. Its founders are Geological Survey of Slovenia, Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute and Faculty of Mining, Geology and EIT Raw Materials.
